full time NERC Reliability and CIP Compliance Project Manager

Position Overview:
This position reports to the Director of Power Systems and Compliance and will act as the reliability and critical infrastructure protection (CIP) compliance Project Manager for Ascendant Energy Services, LLC (“AES”). This position will be the AES staff expert in NERC Reliability Standards and CIP Standard and cyber security controls and best practices.

Major Duties:
• Provide staff expertise on NERC Reliability and CIP Standards and cyber security.
• Provide consultation, audit, and support services to AES clients with respect to the NERC Reliability and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards.
• Work closely with the AES clients to ensure all aspects of the clients’ internal compliance programs are complying with the applicable NERC Reliability and CIP Standards and RRO’s standards and supplements.
• Collect and document all necessary data, logs, files etc. as required for Reliability and CIP compliance evidence.
• Validate AES clients’ policies, procedures and documentation as they relate NERC Reliability and CIP Standards and applicable RRO’s standards and supplements.
• Conduct comprehensive self audits of the AES Reliability and CIP program with respect to the NERC Reliability and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Standards.

Evaluate and assess compliance of all the Reliability and CIP standards for AES clients:
• Develop and track the status of any Reliability and CIP mitigation plans.
• Develop and update compliance status reports.
• Develop compliance reporting forms.

Minimum Qualifications:
• BS in engineering, computer science/information systems or equivalent combination of education and related industry experience resulting in demonstrated ability to perform the major duties.
• Experience in cyber security or related area, with a minimum of seven years of experience.
• Working knowledge in the critical EMS systems, network systems, security systems, and supporting technologies.
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of NERC Reliability Standards with an emphasis on cyber security standards.
• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point.
• Certification in some or all of the followings is a big plus:
o Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
o Certified Information Security Manager(CISM)
o Certified Information Systems Auditor(CISA)
o Certified Protection Professional (CPP)
o Certified Fraud Investigator (CFI)
o Certified in Homeland Security – Level III (CHS-III)
o Certified Checkpoint Security Engineer (CCSE)
o Certified Checkpoint Security Administrator (CCSA)
o Certified Rainwall Engineer
o Certified Nokia Security Administration (IPSO and VRRP)
o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
o Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)
o Certified ISS Database, Internet Scanner and Real Secure IDS Engineer (ICE)
o Certified Entrust PKI Administrator & Engineer
o Certified EnCase
o Tripwire Certified
o Certified Ademco (Security System) Installer
o Certified Northern Computer Card Access System Installer
o Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE)
o Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC)
