Fashion Industry! - QC/Fit/Spec Technician (South Vancouver)

Located in the port city of Vancouver, Canada, we have satellite offices in Montreal and Toronto, and employ over 60 in-house staff within administration, design, marketing, and distribution hubs. Our head office in Vancouver has three full-time positions available. We are currently looking for:
Quality Control/Spec Technician
Summary of Responsibilities:
o Inspects garments, according to instructions and operations. Sends all imperfect samples back to manufacturer for alterations or rejects them. Compiles and tracks defects on appropriate documents for follow up. Liase with factory and buying office re: fit approval and various communications.
o Receive and Inspect samples and production samples for detail, quality, color, weight and accessories, and match to specifications.
o Fit samples
o Tracks defects on appropriate documents for follow up with factories.
o Gather information to establish manuals of specs for individual customers, track and record.
o Correspond with factories and sales rep to supply information necessary for production and approval samples.
o Provides grading, scans and information to factories as required.
o Provides spec information for new styles for costing.
o Keeps sample room organized for samples that are needed for reference.
o Various other duties as assigned by management
Requirements
o EDUCATION - Minimum Grade 12 education
o EXPERIENCE – Minimum two years experience in the field or equivalent education
o OTHER REQUIREMENTS
o Detail oriented and organized
o Self motivated, requiring limited direction or supervision
o Excellent communication skills
o Able to work with others effectively
