The Opportunity
Contemporary Security Canada (CSC), an integrated team of local and international experts, will provide security screening services for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
To support the security screening services contract, CSC is seeking a Creative Services Coordinator to manage the communication design strategy for a dynamic company. Applicant should be well versed in the standard electronic production tools (Adobe Creative Suite) and also be handy in the web environment. The successful applicant will create high-quality graphic output for print, web, video, and multimedia. Position responsibilities will include:
• Developing and refining a consistent corporate identity package
• Leading a multi-phase website rollout
• Supervising a video production team
• Directing and mentoring a small – possibly dispersed – design team on a wide variety of projects
• Working closely with the training division to create high quality training materials
• Responding to various requests from other teams within the company on an on-going basis
• Maintaining brand and graphic archive for company-wide use
• Maintaining and editing a comprehensive photo and video archive
• Interpreting and adhering to external client’s stringent graphic design guidelines
• Tracking job costs and resources across multiple client groups and projects

Qualifications, Experience and Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field preferred
• 3-5 years of relevant practical design and management experience
• Experience in a fast-paced environment required
• Traditional and electronic graphic design skills necessary
• Art director experience preferred
• Web design and development skills preferred
• Photography and photo-editing skills preferred
• Proofreading, copy editing skills preferred
• Ability to shoot, edit, and stream video preferred
• Self motivated and proactive; results oriented and committed to meeting deadlines
• Ability to manage numerous projects and/or tasks at the same time
• Strong attention to detail and high standards for quality output
• Ability to work within a team, flexibility in approach to work
• Comfort in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment where roles change and expand to meet operational needs
• Able to work additional hours as required, some travel may be required
